SYKES' TAKE ON .... A FOOL AND HIS\HER MONEY ARE SOON PARTED

.... as appears to be happening now.   The trial is imminent of one Goncolo Amaral, disgraced and convicted ex-policeman.   This is the member of the Portuguese Police (PJ) who wrote a book, 'The Truth of the Lie' about the case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann from a holiday complex in Praia de Luz.  In it he implied that her parents had been complicit in what happened to this little girl, leaning heavily on the idea she had either died from an accident or had been deliberately murdered.   Now, the interesting thing about this assumption is that Amaral, despite being the 'Co-ordinator' of the case, never met or talked with the McCanns.  And in this trial for libel   Amaral has ducked and weaved ever since the case was submitted to the courts, giving copious and, frankly, ludicrous excuses for its postponement.   Now, with the Tony Bennett trial for contempt over his repeated statements that the McCanns were responsible for her fate, despite his undertaking to the UK courts that he would cease and desist from such comments has been concluded, the way is clear and open for Amaral to be tried for deliberate libel.  I understand the trial is set for 12 September, but as there have been many conflicting reports re the date, don't hold your breath; Amaral is as slippery as they come.  And as all this is going on, in step the loonies with their Pay Pal account and begging bowl to the fore to help Amaral with his lawyers' etc fees.  Well, if you happen to have a few shekels to spare, and are in a lunatic giving mood, you will find the Pay Pal link on this forum.
