Liz asked me to post my thoughts on where I think the McCann case is at this point in time. I wish I had something positive to say, but, quite frankly, all looks quite bleak.

I really think no one has any power at this point to prove anything in this case unless Madeleine’s body shows up in a certain sports bag somewhere near Praia da Luz. And I think that would only happen by accident, that the land where her remains are buried is dug up by some builder putting up houses (my best guess for the location of here body is just west of Praia da Luz in the large desolate area called Monte do Jose Mestre near which Gerry's phone pinged after he rented the vehicle in which DNA was found. Other than that, someone would have to talk and it might not be until someone makes a deathbed confession that such a break would occur.

My big fear is that Scotland Yard will pin Madeleine’s demise on some dead sexual predator, like that one who supposedly “confessed” to his son. Once that is done – with Scotland Yard’s stamp of validity – the case can be put to rest and the McCanns and their friends cleared (at least administratively by Scotland Yard and/or by the PJ).

If this happens, the truth will remain hidden, buried by all the lies and collusion and the damage this fiasco will have done to missing and murdered children cases will be impossible to measure.

As to the question of media madness in the McCann case, having been inside the media myself, I personally believe the whole issue is simply money and the ratings and sales that make money. When focusing on the McCanns as suspects made money for the media, they went all out in that direction. Then, when the McCanns’ attorney, Carter-Ruck came out swinging and sued, it was no longer worth “bashing” them. Now, that Scotland Yard has given the McCanns their blessing as innocents, the bashing is going against the Portuguese and Amaral. For any media outlet or anyone in the media to take a stand against the McCann propaganda is career suicide. Some of the pros think I have lost credibility and my career over my McCann investigation and commentary. In theory, this could be true, but, as it happens, I haven’t really suffered very much, only because I am a renegade profiling commentator to begin with (in other words, television folks have no issue most of the time with my take on things because it makes “good” TV and I am not a threat to the program). However, while Nancy Grace’s complete support of the McCanns and presenting of untruths and twisted “facts” will do her good right now, I wasn’t invited on because I would make her look bad when I attacked what was being said. I have always taken a stand for truth and justice, come what may, and it hasn’t hurt me much except for my refusal to do any news stories about mass murderers (which I think encourages mass murder). And even taking that stand didn’t cause me a career problem other than not being seen as much on television. I would say I have been lucky because I didn’t know when I spoke out whether I would indeed be committing career suicide. So, this is why so many people just go along with the flow; they want to keep their jobs and income.

When Amazon pulled my book, “Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann” they made a good business decision. I wasn’t making that much money for them with the book and it wasn’t worth the risk of lawsuit. So I can’t blame them for their action, I can only blame the McCanns for their refusal to allow theories that disagree with theirs (in spite of what Gerry said under oath). Sadly, with Scotland Yard now “clearing” the McCanns, they have opened up a world of hurt for anyone speaking up for the facts of the case and setting them up for becoming a future victim of the McCanns and Carter-Ruck (at least in the UK as the McCanns would have little luck here in the US which is why they didn’t dare sue me personally). As is often true in history, the truth gets swept under the rug by politics, money making, and those who hold power.

Although I do not see a rosy future for bringing the truth to light, I applaud all those who refuse to sit back and let the lies win. I, myself, am still willing to speak up and always with be willing to do so, regardless of the consequences.

I did email them and offer to come on once a week for special stories, but, apparently, they decided the one person in the US who had written a book on the case was not worth inviting on the show because I would point out the FACTS and give a dissenting theory.

@justiceMANz I appreciate that. I actually only rarely join a group for a day for special posts; otherwise, I do not join groups.

The woman is clearly off her rocker. She is better employed as a self-published writer of fiction because she lacks the most basic qualifications for anyone working with Law Enforcement - i.e. an ability to empathise with victims and to acknowledge that she might occasionally (i.e. frequently) be wrong.

We watched as she made blooper after blooper on McCann. We watched as even some of the most hardened antis distanced themselves from her appalling lack of basic factual knowledge about the case. We looked on in disbelief when she went to Praia da Luz and proclaimed that the apartment 5A was a "veritable goldfishbowl", that the complex was "well-lit" and that no way would an abductor seek out a child in a holiday resort with a large transient population. That instead, he would go out to the quiet suburbs to find a child...

We saw how she stated not just once but four times in her "profile" that the "abductor" (i.e. Gerry McCann) had been spotted heading for the beach at 10pm carrying Madeleine and then denied that she's said any such thing to Tricia Griffiths.

We saw her declare that she thought Madeleine had died of an overdose of the "sedative" Calpol, then argue the toss when told that Calpol wasn't a sedative and that children who took overdoses of it, died a very slow and painful death - days and weeks rather than minutes and hours. She ended up saying that it could have been any sedative - despite the FACT that there is no evidence of this whatsoever.

We have witnessed her interact with the lowest of the most lowly gutter trolls - the very trolls which normal, respectable folk immediately block. Yet this was the scum that Brown buddied up to and appealed to for information to assist in her "profiling work" on the case. In response, they fed her forum myths and tabloid headlines which had been long discredited and she subsequently claimed that she'd done her research from the files.

Pat Brown didn't even come up with one cohesive theory about the case. Rather, she forwarded a kaleidoscope of "ideas" which didn't hang together and even contradicted each other. In fact, it was a shameful mess. Rather than using the files, she required that her readers disregard 20 or so independent witness testimonies which are in the files and support the McCann version of the evening and focus instead on assuming that everything the McCanns and their friends said was a lie.

As each blooper occurred, we watched as she became more and more embittered towards the couple - as though somehow, it was THEIR fault that she was making a complete arse of herself. Sadly, that is a very common trait in the narcissist - a label Pat Brown has been given by many commentators and not just on McCann (see the comments on Amazon from years back).

I find it quite satisfying that Pat Brown has failed not only in her attempts to hurt the McCann family, but also in her career as a talking head and "profiler" because IMO, that is the just end for someone who spreads lies and misinformation in order to cash in on the tragedy of a couple she simply doesn't like.

For the past few years, her "audience" has been shrinking. Now it seems that her audience comprises solely of the fruitloops and haters on #McCann. It's no more than she deserves.
