In September 2004, Joana Cipriano, a girl of eight years, disappeared in Figueira, Portimão in the municipality. Cardinal:
In April 2012, an anonymous letter to the president of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Fernando Gomes Pereira claimed that Christopher had bribed an assistant referee, José Cardinal, named for a game between Sporting and Maritimo. The letter was eventually delivered to the PJ by the President of the "lions", Godinho Lopes.
