Yesterday was day 1 of the Amaral trial for libel. I expect all of you know the main details so I will cut to the chase. Kate McCann and her mother showed up, neat and tidy, Amaral looked like an unmade whore's bed. He tried a last minute diversion to have the proceedings in private, a request which the judge rightly refused. Much was made of on the various sites, plus fb and twitter, of how Kate looked - all I can say is the loonies must have been watching a very bad extraterrsestial broadcast from Jupiter. The personal attacks came thick and fast, and rose in decibels as they tried to outdo each other in vitriol and downright nastiness. Various untermensch made their expected appearances, Pat 'Bushmeat' Brown, a supposed Christian lay preacher, one Patricia Doogue, pontificating away like a demented duck - is Doogue her real name? Sounds like a particularly nasty disease, like scurvy. After an evening of this, what do we get this morning? HiDeHitler's new video, cruel and totally uncalled for, which was on her facebook but is now likely to be on youtube, as her scummy followers are begging for it to be. Meantime, Euronews, which is watched by most people in the EU and even beyond, featured the case. And AnneGuedes, shining light of the Justice forum said she had actually been in an elevator with Amaral himself, at least that is what is being claimed by mod Angelo. And they are now dissecting on what has become an anti McCann forum, why Gerry isn't in Lisbon. 4 pages of idiotic speculation, interspersed with comments by the few sane members left on there.
