Most say things like:
I highly recommend this book about the issues that every writer has to go through in order to be published. Pat Brown does not sugar coat the struggles that a writer has to endure to see their dream as an author come true. There are scam artists, incompetent and cheap publishing companies who won't support their authors in promoting their books and so many other dirty little secrets that the literary world has but does not want you to find out. Let Pat tell you the whole truth about how to get published and to find out some ways to become successful without wasting thousands of dollars ! Spend your money on Pat's book because it is well worth the purchase! Read it just to find the secrets of the publishing world ! It is funny, insightful and truthful! I laughed many times! Thank you Pat for writing this informative book for everyone! 5 stars!
Then we come to a long one:
I can’t believe the five-star reviews are real. Coming out almost simultaneously with the publishing date, they must be the author’s friends. Don’t waste your buck. This book is a complete waste of time. Since every book deserves a modicum of respect, I will write a whole review, but you need not read it. Go on to another book.

The author is obsessed with other people who have been successful when she herself—despite numerous breaks and opportunities, and despite her “over 3000 appearances” as a guest commentator (criminal profiling) on television shows such as Nancy Grace, Larry King and others—has a career that has gone nowhere.
Wait a minute. Over 3000 appearances? That means she appeared daily, every single day, for a period of more than eight years. Impossible. So maybe every other day for a period of sixteen years? Hm-m-m-m, maybe she is like one of those despicable authors she mentions who don’t tell the truth and exaggerate their success . . . oh, never mind.

This poorly written book is like an angry letter that one should write and then throw away.
