Right, quiet everyone, let's meet the contestants. In the Blue corner, a male OAP convicted of contempt of court with shopping trolley, in the Red corner, a female middle-aged 'writer' and self-confessed internet troll. The prize, Top Forum Dog/Bitch. Seconds out of the ring, let battle commence. Blue kicks off with a demand that Red is to be immediately banned from her own (?) forum. Red's lemmings friends sprang to her defense with a thread ridiculing Blue and his words, and generally taking the p*ss out of the whole thing. However, it seems not all Red's seconds were totally on her side, so some less than fulsome posts were made, which caused some friction. Blue's cohorts, meanwhile, gloated away. Other interested parties crowded round, enjoying the show, We were in the front row, along with other forums, with members holding up 'The pros are laughing at you" banners and sporting baseball caps with assorted slogans on them. Our citizen journalists took copious notes on tablets and smartphones, sending them to our Command Center, who posted them up as soon as they arrived. The blows rained down, first Red then Blue took the lead - on and on it went with no conclusion until most of the crowd gave up and went to watch TV. Finally a Red supporter announced that the topic which started this has been whooshed from Blue's forum so perhaps we can all call a halt to this. The match ended inconclusively and will, no doubt, be resurrected in due course. Well, it made for a fun evening, and as I have just ascertained, it is continuing as I write this.
