A reminder for the hopelessly-stupid, in-denial, McCann-haters.

Until September 15th, 2007, the PJ could make people arguidos WITHOUT evidence.

After that date, the PJ HAD to present PROPER evidence.

Hence Gonzo's race to make the poor McCanns arguidos on 7th September 2007. Without evidence - not that that stopped him whipping up a disgusting campaign of smears and lynch-mobbery against them.

Once the full extent of his incompetence, whether by accident or design, is revealed, let's hope we can look forward to seeing Gonzo behind bars for what he has done to Madeleine McCann and her family.

Why aren't his fan club demanding to know why Malinka, close friend of the saintly Murat, is now an arguido under the with-evidence system?

I think you are going to have to rethink your mantra, Stephen, that one has worn thin.

The interviews which will take place today are only part of the continuing process of investigating what happened to Madeleine.

If you set your prejudices aside you will be able to follow the systematic approach which has taken place.

First the existing information and witness statements were analysed. It should be borne in mind that unadulterated files were used.
Witnesses were re-interviewed eg Tannerman.
Public appeals were made for fresh information and some was forthcoming; eg the assaults on British children in the Algarve and probably much more than we have been told about.
Then the real step back in time to searches on the ground in Portugal.

Interviews are now being conducted and the Met have told us this will be the start of a long process.

It is my opinion that the police are at the point now which they should have been at in 2007.
They reached a dead end which resulted in Madeleine’s case being archived because they did not keep all their options; instead they concentrated on and tried to prove her parents perceived guilt.

It was a failure of procedure made all the more glaring when the progress made by the new PJ and Met investigations is considered.
They are working a cold case, but much of the information was available when it was fresh back in 2007 and 2008.
I think eventually there will be an inquiry into that.

I wonder if the OC driver was picking up all the friends and relatives who came out to join the McCanns on their extended holiday? It was 3 weeks before the McCanns hired a car, and Warners were laying on drivers for them up until that time - they may also have been driving the celebrity pair to their media interviews etc.

Early this evening I called Faro PJ to present a complaint against SY making requests to hear testimonies from people that are not in any way involved in a Portuguese investigation. I was attended by a very respectful person in Lisbon that put me through to Faro.
The person that attended me was very respectful, said he understood my complaint but that I had to contact the Public Ministry.
That's what I'll be doing today.

Chère Amie I think putting names out as persons of interest on the media is completely wrong it should be done quietly interview and only name the person if it leads to any suspicion.
The people named by media yesterday are now again going to be classed as guilty by some and will no doubt be harassed and if they now have family's their children and wives the same

The evidence presented by SY is so flimsy that it would never stand up in a court of law. Furthermore, the judge who appreciated the rogatory letter refused the authorisation to search the "suspects" house because there was not a evidence to justify it.

The reasons given in the rogatory letters can be read in the PT newspapers. One reason given were the suspicious phone calls made between 2 of the suspects when the Tapas made their checkings on the children. Now, were these checkings ever confirmed by independent witnesses? No, never. Even in the archiving report, the PG said that the group lied about their checking on the children. Therefore, these suspicions are based on what could be lies as they have not been confirmed and this could have been done with a recontruction. Bad police work, IMO.

Also, some English woman stated she heard two men talking about getting rid of the body, in English, in front of Malinka's house. Now since all of the arguidos are Portuguese (Malinka included) why would they have been speaking English?

Also, one of the arguidos is 18, which means that he was 11 at the time.

It is obvious that SY is basing their investigation on the PIs hired by the McCanns which I find unprofessional.

Imo, it is unbelievably wicked of the police to join in with the McCanns and their friends in pointing the finger at innocent people, especially considering the police know (or should know) exactly who was responsible for Madeleine's disappearance. What will become of those men named arguidoes? Will they be publically vilified? Will they be physically attacked? Just how far will Scotland Yard go to steer suspicion away from the parents? It now seems to include endangering lives.

How is it possible that there is DNA matching Madeleine's in his apartment?

If this is the case, and it's a very big IF, what the heck could this mean? How is this possible?

I've just emailed Operation Grange, registering my disgust at their failure to investigate the McCanns.

At the end of my email, I stated out that I didn't expect a reply from them because I had previously emailed them and I had never had an acknowledgement from them, let alone a reply.

I've had some success, I've had an acknowledgement to my email. I'm not expecting a reply from one of the Operation Grange team, but I could receive a visit from one of our nice friendly local police officers, warning me to keep my opinions to myself

I tried to track down Malinka but his computer shop seems to have changed hands and I was told he moved to Spain to get away from the adverse publicity which had damaged his business.

He follows these forums closely so he might want to put his side of events in order to set the record straight. Assuming of course that he has nothing to hide??

This round of witnesses may hold the evidence the police need to make a move.

Unfortunately for DCI Redwood, he has the world watching his every move. If he names only non British subjects as arguidoes, the shouts of corruption and whitewash will be deafening - or at least they should be.

It will be absolutely bizarre if the Police, both British and Portuguese refuse to name the obvious suspects in order to spare their feelings.

What a dilemma for the McCanns! They have to attend the trial, they may well have put up a monetary stake in order to pursue legal action in Portugal, but in any event, they are facing massive losses when the trial ends.
