The dreadful news headline, ‘A child is missing from his home’ has, once again, united the nation in sympathy. Every parent’s worst nightmare is now being lived by another wretched family, as they wait for news of their missing child. Throughout the country, good honest people are praying for the safe return of little Mikaeel. Unfortunately we, like the family, have little idea of what has become of this three year old, but, being good, decent types, we know better than to speculate. In the absence of verifiable facts it beholds the caring nature within us not to point the finger of suspicion. We just don’t know what has happened.
But, sadly, for a small minority of twisted individuals, this family, this mother, is fair game. This unfortunate woman, less than two days since her son's disappearance, is already undergoing ‘Trial by Troll.’ The courtroom is in session, the jury of pitchforkers are assembled, and the judge is none other than our old adversary, the arch-defamer himself, ex-solicitor anthony bennett (failed.) Already he is twisting facts, mixing them with unsubstantiated speculation and garnishing it all with outright lies. Here below is a post of his from earlier this very day. Riddled with his usual stock-in-trade misinformation, we can only shake our head in disgust at this, his latest attempt to use the suffering of another poor family to shore up his own, shoddy thesis about what happened to Madeleine McCann.
I will take his words, and correct them with what we do know thus far about this tragic case.

Judging by the latest leaks, about Mikaeel 'not being at nursery all week', I am wondering if this is a possible scenario:
1. Parents cry 'abduction'
Lie. There have so far been no reports that the mother reported anything other than that her son was missing from their home when she checked on him this morning. No report, as far as we know, claims the mother cried ‘abduction.’
2. Boy said to be missing from bed sometime after 9pm in the evening.
True. The boy was put to bed, and has not been seen since.
3. Cock-and-bull stories about 'first time he had slept in his own room', '3-yr-old perfectly capable of getting dressed and walking out on his own' etc etc
By what standard do you judge the story to be cock-and-bull? Are you intimately acquainted with this family, to the point you know when they are lying? Earlier reports state that the boy was poorly, and was sleeping on his own. And a three year old is more than capable of dressing himself, if he knows where his clothes are. Ask any parent.
4. Conflicting claims about when the boy was first noticed missing
I’m not aware of any conflicting accounts. Most reports simply state he was discovered missing ‘when the family awoke.’
5. No evidence whatsoever of abduction
There is no evidence full stop. All cards are still on the table. To zero in on one single possibility, making it prominent above all others is disingenuous to the child, let alone his family.
6. Boy actually 'disappeared' several days ago
Blatant fabrication. There is no evidence of this whatsoever.
7. Mother and maybe at least one other planned an abduction hoax.
Blatant lie, based on speculation. It’s difficult to see where all this fantasy is coming from, though it’s easy enough to see where it is headed. Another round of ‘it wos the mum wot dunnit.’
8. 'Look over here, don't look over there' - typical magician's trick scenario
Who said ‘look over here?’ Not the mother. Again there is nothing, in any press report, to substantiate this bogus claim. Just another lie that bennett hopes, if told often enough, will be accepted as the truth.
What purpose does all this serve? Simple. bennett has long held that any time a child disappears, it is always the family at fault. If it turns out that this child was abducted, his whole rotten edifice of his perceived guilt of the McCanns will crash to the ground.
As I have said, we simply do not know what has happened to this child. But no mother, or family, deserves to undergo this internet scrutiny unless there are grounds for suspicion. And so far, there are none.
But while writing this piece a terrible thought occurred to me. Supposing a child, God forbid, were to go missing from bennett’s own community? What would he do? The cry would go out for volunteers to help search for the missing tot, and all over, caring, compassionate types would leap into action, not bearing to think about the consequences of sitting back and doing nothing while an innocent life could be in peril.
Not bennett. He would, instead, rush around madly, doing his best to convince these good people to NOT look for this child. He would do his best to persuade them the family were hiding something, point out errors in their statements, fabricate lies and disinformation, all in a sick attempt to back up his own, long discredited ideas about what really happened to Madeleine McCann.
The results for this family, this child of his own community, would be devastating.
