A decade of hunting for your daughter, unable to say whether she is dead or alive, is not a milestone so much as a sentence.

They've been subject to claims of foul play, most notably by the Portugese detective Goncalo Amaral who failed to find their daughter in the first so-called 'golden hours' of opportunity and sees that as no reason not to blame someone else.

And the internet, a mass communication device invented for the spread of knowledge, has done its worst in spreading hatred, ignorance, and guesswork by armchair detectives who can't detect a stink in the online sewers they inhabit.
