What Kind Of Nonsense Is This?
The time is fast approaching to pull the plug on this silly charade. Someone lost a child who none of us had ever heard of, and no one is allowed a theory or opinion without engaging in full scale war. To be honest, I don't care what happened to Maddie McCann any more. Let her be somebody's else's problem. This nonsense has been going on for five years. The general public are getting sick of hearing about her because, as each day dawns, we have fresh crises--there's been an aircrash in the Far East, a train crash in Holland, the French elections are taking place which will lead to inevitable riots, and all the press are interested in reporting is some barking theory by an American over what Maddie would look like now--eight, going on thirty.
Justine Spencer writes to my publisher with news that I have a criminal record, and that currently, court and libel proceedings are taking place against me. None of this is true. Neither am I "known" to Carter-Ruck, Keir Simmonds or Clarence Mitchell--or the police, other than that I have contacts amongst them. It's just muck-raking, pure and simple.
I get an email purporting to be from Ceri Poole's husband, wherein he threatens to "do me over". A second email from the same source threatened to cut my throat.
An Australian woman, Kerryn Davies, tweeted some of the most puerile homophobic and racist comments I have ever seen, all of them aimed at me--one of them using the AIDS hashtag.
A pair of filthy-mouthed individuals, Linda and James Wrafter, turn up on my doorstep, record the albeit brief conversation where I was attacked for what someone else had accused her of--two of my words to every twenty of theirs--then post that South Yorkshire Police told them to come and record the conversation. Though they did not see any of the house beyond an immaculate front garden, they posted that I lived in a hovel and that my wife was a tramp.
Another lunatic--the woman who made the accusation which led to Wrafter's visit--accused me of posting her son's name and address on Twitter, and claimed to be so frightened of me that she'd gone into hiding. None of this true.
I was accused of sending emails to Warren Thornton's football club, accusing him of being a paedophile--in the past, he informed me in a series of screenshotted messages that the culprit was Justine Spencer, then changed his mind when I refused to post her address and telephone number on this blog. I was further accused of sending vituperative emails from a library in Norwich, and from an address in York. None of this is true.
A few days ago "Joana Morais" sent me eight photographs of Ricardo Paiva--four taken at a party, two of him naked, two of him masturbating at his computer. What was I expected to do with these but hand them over to the police?
And this is just the tip of the iceberg, giving me more than enough reasons to call it a day.
I have never accused the McCanns of anything, other than initial neglect. So, was Maddie abducted, was she murdered, was she sold, did she wander off, is she in hiding, or working at Burger King in Shanghai?
