YORKSHIRE RIPPER IN SUN RE MADELEINE - BACKS THE ANTI-McCANNS

YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe sickeningly casts doubt on the innocence of Madeleine McCann’s parents in a sensational letter revealed today by The Sun.

The bloated psychopath, 69, tells a penpal “there’s something not quite right” about three-year-old Maddie’s disappearance during a Portugal holiday in 2007.

And he alludes to spurious theories which circulated at the time, falsely incriminating the youngster’s dad Gerry and mum Kate.

Sutcliffe writes about Maddie in one of a series of letters sent from Broadmoor high-security hospital to female visitors and friends.

The Ripper, who killed 13 women and attempted to kill seven more between 1975 and 1980, at first says he has sympathy for the McCanns’ “terrible loss”.

But he goes on to deliver the grotesque slurs as the shocking letter unfolds.

Sutcliffe writes: “As for the Madeleine McCann case? For quite a while I had every sympathy for the parents at their terrible loss.

“But there’s something not quite right about it all, the latest thing is that the police say...” (the rest of this sentence cannot be published for legal reasons).

“A lot of people seem to have the idea that the poor wee lass...” (again, The Sun cannot publish the rest of this sentence).

Sutcliffe’s vile claims sparked fears that he has twisted the minds of the vulnerable young women he is writing to.

The McCanns did not respond to a request for comment last night.

That's a typical anti 'toe in the water' opening phrase to get people to question what they've always believed.

It's also someone leading a mentally ill man into saying something sellable.

It's a cynical, sick, parasitic act by a person beneath contempt.

Strange story and as others have pointed out, plenty of headlines to pick from.

I am trying to imagine how Kate, Gerry and Team McCann will react to this story, and I imagine they will be mad as hell. The Sun have juxtaposed the name of Madeleine with a heinous killer and themselves in a subtle Hannibal Lecter scenario* that does them no favours whatsoever.

Imagine how happy they would be if the headline read 'Archbishop of Canterbury' (or another saintly person) stating 'the McCanns couldn't possibly be involved'. Those would be the kind of headlines Team McCann are crying out for, stories from their friends in high places supporting them.

I don't believe this is an attempt to slur those who don't believe the McCanns, the links are too tenuous, the average Sun reader will think 'blimey, even the Yorkshire Ripper thinks they did it, and he would know'. It's quite clever actually, it slurs the parents without incurring libel costs. The 'Ripper' cannot deny what he said, it is in his handwriting, and they can't sue the Sun, because they are reporting the opinion of a scumbag not a credible commentator.

This looks like payback to me, and it could be the first of many. I have a feeling Rupert has been biding his time.

The Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, has reportedly sent hundreds of letters to women from his cell in Broadmoor – even apparently telling one he loves her in a Valentine’s card.

Sutcliffe was ordered to serve a life sentence at the high-security psychiatric hospital in 1981 after being found guilty of the murder of 13 women and attempted murder of seven others between 1975 and 1980.

Many of the victims had been prostitutes and Sutcliffe had told authorities that ‘the voice of God’ had sent him on a mission to kill them.

Now, according to the Sun, the convicted murderer has been telling female friends and acquaintances he would love to spend time with them and has been urging others to visit him behind bars.

he killer also describes his friendship with paedophile Jimmy Savile, who had access to Broadmoor, saying he gave the presenter a portrait he painted of him “on one of the many occasions he popped in for a chat in my cell”, and also talked of how his ex-wife, Sonia, still visits him.

In a letter to one woman who visited him in prison, he told her: “You looked gr8 in that outfit.” He allegedly wrote to a different woman: “I’m thinking of you 24/7” and asked another: “By the way, have you found a steady boyfriend yet?”

Sutcliffe, 69, wrote to another: “I’m way up on cloud 9 after seeing you today I can tell you. Ok then gorgeous take care for now.”

The letters, some of which are decorated with stickers, such as hedgehogs, love hearts and butterflies, were sent over a ten-year period under the name Peter Coonan – his mother’s maiden name – the newspaper claimed. In one, he reveals he goes to sleep with a teddy bear.

Sutcliffe has a large number of fans who write to him, speak with him by phone and shower him with gifts.

Bizarrely, in one note, Sutcliffe also suggested there is “something not quite right” about the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine McCann in Portugal in 2007, and alluded to discredited theories, at the time, falsely incriminating her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann.

My thoughts too PeterMac, I read the comments this morning on Candyfloss's link, the majority of them were more or less stating a guilty person can suss others or words to that effect. I don't know why petermac is acting as if its good a seriel killer supports him. Peter Sutcliffe thought there was something wrong with women walking alone at night or working as prostitutes so he battered them to death. One victim was a much loved only child, sixteen years old, walking home. Her widowed father grieved to death. But petermac thinks Peter Sutcliffe has good judgement.

I wonder if peter Sutcliffe is just corresponding with some mad sad old bat who is also an anti, or whether he actually is an anti. If he can get access to a mobile then he can get access to the internet.
