One of the issues that seems to surface quite often, especially on twitter, is the subject of anonimity. Why do some people demand that everyone publishes their 'real' name, address, school, workplace? Is it to trace them, 'expose' them and generally make their lives miserable, a practice that is very common nowadays thanks to the internet? Or is it to boast of being clean-living, pure in heart and thought, a paragon of virtue in fact? I think there are many reasons. It would appear, from much I have read, that fame and fortune is one of the main reasons for putting ones details up for all to see, imagining this gives them the moral high ground to demand that 'lesser mortals' do the same, a totally erroneous assumption; we all have free will and the decision not to do something merely because some righteous online bully demands we do. We have seen adults kids kill themselves over online bullying by their school/work mates, We see daily some of the most gruesome threats - I remember reading one where the poster wanted to use a gorilla to rape those he saw as enemies, utterly revolting and sickening. It is worrying that such obscenities can be daily posted up for all to see, especially as most children have access to the internet and some parents don't give a monkeys what their offspring do or say, in fact they actively encourage them to copy their own behavoir.
Since I started this Take there have been some interesting developments on the anti front. Now how much of this is kosher I can't verify at this moment in time but it seems that a rabid hater has beern taking online lessons on hacking. Yes, Dear Readers, you have read this correctly, but panic ye not, at least not yet. As and when I can, between socialising, pre-Xmas shopping etc, I will try and keep you updated on the progress of this 'event' in the main forum. Just in case there is some truth in this, I suggest you review your firewalls, anti-spyware programs etc amd bring them bang up-to-date and also acquire a proxy IP.
And look what had just turned up from shoppingtrolly man - a question and answer quiz about the case of a little missing child has been posted on a certain forum. He has previous form for this kind of tactic, a 'letter' to the parents of the missing child and a bastardized version of a Christmas carol, the beautiful Silent Night. I can only assume that he is entering stage 2 of dementia or that, when he was created, sympathy and compassion weren't include in the package. And, as usual, I expect there will be the fawning, backside-licking comments from the other cretins on his not-forum.
