As many will know, the libel trial in Lisbon has been extending over a longer period than anyone could anticipate.

Thankfully, we have been able to count on the support of many friends that have been willing to help with Gonçalo Amaral's legal expenses as he seeks to defend himself in the case that was brought against him over his book, "Maddie: A Verdade da Mentira".

Your donations have made it possible to ensure that the former police coordinator fights the accusations that have been brought against him. Your continued support, both moral and financial, is invaluable.

Gonçalo Amaral was no longer working for the PJ when he wrote his book, he had already retired. Other ex-policemen have written books about cases, why can't he? He also wrote the book not only to defend his honour but that of the PJ and judicial system which had been maligned systematically in the British press.

If the British press can bring out retired police officers and other so-called experts to analyse the case, I don't see why someone who was actually involved in it can't give his view, especially when his views are based on the police files.

Last lie first-

Gonc's smears are NOT based on the police files; indeed, the files frequently demonstrate what a total liar the 'man' is.

He invented much of the rubbish in The truth - I'm a Liar, as anyone comparing the garbage he made up about 'Kate McCann dismissing FLOs', with what is a matter of legal record in the police files.

That NO SUCH THING ever happened, that indeed, the sworn testimony of the FLOs directly contradicts the lies from convicted perjurer Amaral.

As for defending the honor of the PJ -          

Total bullsh*t.

The last thing the PJ want or need is Gonzo and his cronies pretending they somehow represent honest, hardworking police officers.

Let's see----

Goncalo Amaral - convicted of perjury in a criminal court and defrauding his own brother in a civil court.

Tavares de Almeida - convicted of actual torture.

Ricardo Paiva - caught exposing himself on webcam.

Cristovoa - left the PJ after being accused of rape and convicted of the theft of 800 euros from the PJ. Currently facing charges of gangsterism, intimidation, blackmail, stalking a minor, etc.

Only an utter fool would think the PJ want 'defended' by that shower. Montclair may have 'forgotten' that Gonzo accused the PJ of persecuting him, but the rest of us haven't.

Libel Trial: Update & Appeal


As many of you will know, the trial of the action that opposes the McCann couple to Gonçalo Amaral, and others, has been suspended, awaiting information about the status of Madeleine McCann as a Ward of Court.

The documentation that attests that status has been requested and obtained by Gonçalo Amaral's lawyer through a lawyer in London from the competent court, and will soon be delivered to the judge at the Civil Court of Lisbon.

The obtainment of said evidence was time-consuming and expensive, and the costs will be fully met by Gonçalo Amaral.

We appeal, once more, to those who are able to help us to collect the funds that are needed to cover this expense, to contribute through Projecto Justiça Gonçalo Amaral.
