‘Fateful Decisions’, by Enid O’Dowd - A good read for CMOMM readers
Enid O’Dowd, the Irish journalist and chartered accountant who wrote the much-praised report (1) on the Find Madeleine Fund (the private limited company set up by the McCanns) has written a book likely to be of interest to all on this forum.
It’s called Fateful Decisions and subtitled “There’s a fine line between acceptable parenting and neglect”.
I won’t spoil the plot, but it’s about two babies, one in Ireland, and one in the UK, who go missing after questionable parenting decisions.
The book’s heroine, Molly, is an internet detective who debates the cases of these two unfortunate children online and later goes into the field to ask questions of the players in the drama. She does solve the mystery - but finds that doesn’t make her life any simpler!
The story is partly told through internet blogs and newspaper articles.
The book has already received a handy publicity boost when the Irish Minister for Children. Frances Fitzgerald, launched the book for her in Dublin last week:

Given Enid’s interest in the McCann case there’s no prizes for guessing what gave her the idea for her book. She mentions actual cases including the McCanns both in the book and in her author’s note, where she explicitly refers to the CMOMM site - hopefully the first of many books to recognise our work here!
McCannFiles and MissingMadeleine also get a mention, along with Kate McCann’s book Madeleine and the ‘FindMadeleine’ website.
With Christmas just 5 weeks away, this might be a good moment to order Enid’s book - and support her - it might get friends and relatives thinking about the issues surrounding Madeleine’s reported disappearance. She is after all a confirmed McCann-sceptic, a supporter of this forum, and she worked on and published her report in the Fund in her own time and without charge.
Fateful Decisions is available as follows:
1. An ebook from http://www.amazon.com/
2. A paperback direct from her publisher: http://www.originalwriting.ie/
3. From your local bookshop (but only, at the moment, if you live in Ireland).
You can review Enid’s book on http://www.amazon.com/
I understand she’ll be examining the Fund accounts for the year ended 31 March 2013 when they are filed at Companies House. The latest filing date for these is 31 December 2013.

Will she also be examining the accounts for Bennett's and Amoral's handouts?

Judge Tugendhat will probably remember her from Bennett's case.

Good question. Let's see her do a piece on the C.O.L.D. accounts.Broho wrote:Will she also be examining the accounts for Bennett's and Amoral's handouts?
