SYKES' TAKE ON - VERDICT SPINNING LIKE A CENTRIFUGE AND 'FAIRYTALES' OF ABUSE Empty SYKES' TAKE ON - VERDICT SPINNING LIKE A CENTRIFUGE AND 'FAIRYTALES' OF ABUSE

Two happenings last week, the verdict from Portugal re the libel case against a retired policeman, and more about alleged abuse.   I'll comment on the abuse fantasy first.   One of the prominent antis is spearheading a demand for compensation for the abuse levied at her and others at a convent/school.   She bleated away on a local paper, loudly demanding 'compensation' for what those nasty people did to her.   She blamed them for how she turned out, how she went off the rails, drugs, drink, bad relationships etc.   Then the comments started to come in and she was exposed as a liar by people who had been at the convent/school at the same time she was there.   She's also lashing out with ridiculous attacks on all and sundry, accusing forums that will not consider accepting her as a member of being involved in this (in)famous dossier.   I believe she is also going to be a 'star' contributor to a video being made by another anti, whose only real claims to fame is being booted off an internet TV show, screeching at the PM, chasing celebs for 'interviews' and slanging off anyone who upsets her.     Now the verdict.   It has been very funny watching the spinning of the truth since the libel verdict was handed down.   Frantic attempts to 'reverse' the judge's comments have in fact been sabotaged by one of the so-called 'reporters' admitting on a blog that she skulked around the courthouse and even asked to see confidential papers, she got a negative response from the court clerk.   So, back she came, giving her 'version' of the verdict, making sure it favored the defendant, who, in the meantime, has given an interview to a UK tabloid in which he blatantly lies, such as claiming he met the accused when in fact it is on the record that he has never done any such thing.    One interesting thing that has surfaced is that he may well have breached his country's stringent secrecy laws, something that, I am sure, is being looked into even as you read this by the judiciary.
